For me, integrity is everything – even if it means an unpopular decision.
– Thomas Herrick
Thomas Tuning and Service was born out of values planted years ago by founder Thomas Herrick’s grandfather. TTS is a lifelong culmination of Thomas’ hard work and vision.
Thomas smiled and leaned forward as he explained, “My grandfather had unmatched determination which lead him to first serve in the Army, eventually become an electrical engineer at GE with projects for NASA and the Navy, and finally finish his career at TVA.” Thomas went on to share how his grandfather taught him profound lessons about determination. “He was an electrical engineer creating lunar lander circuitry for the Apollo missions,” shared Thomas. He continued, “His department won several ‘zero defect’ awards for their flawless work. My grandfather showed me that through hard work and determination, there aren’t many things that can’t be accomplished. He instilled in me these values and the desire to do the best I can to live up to his example.” Several Lego models are on display in TTS – a tribute to his grandfather’s projects which remind him of these goals daily.
TTS is more than a repair shop, it’s a family business. Thomas knew someday he would venture to own a business of his own. “My customers, old and new, are like family to me. I listen to their concerns so that I can provide guidance as I would my own relatives,” Thomas shared. “I want my customers to feel at ease and comfortable asking any question in order to understand what is going on with their vehicle.” he continued.
Thomas spoke very openly about trust. “Trust is earned, and having open and fair relationships with my customers is important to me,” he said. “For me, integrity is everything – even if it means an unpopular decision. My friends and family know they can trust me and that is of the utmost importance to me,” explained Thomas.
